Inner Elan Vital #4

Topic: Finding An Outlet

Stress, worry and overwhelming situations always seem to find us in this life.  To escape the damaging effects of negative energy, it is imperative to find an outlet.  There are many ways to wind down:

Tips:

1.      Sensory Escape:  light your favorite scented candle, eat your favorite comfort foods and drink relaxing, detoxifying beverages such as tea

1.      Take Time For You:  take some time out of your day for yourself and do something that what you like to do

2.      Don't Over-think: it's easy to take your obligations to seriously, but over-thinking them can suck the joy out of your life

2.      Balance, Balance, Balance: this world revolves around balance, remember "Work hard, play hard"

Inner Elan Vital #3

Topic: Past, Present, and Future

Click link to look at this incredibly inspirational video:

What do you think of most?  Do you dwell in the past, stay in the present, or look towards the future?  Most of the time the youth are the ones who look towards the future.  They foresee the full life ahead of them.  But that does not mean that those who are older should give up on their dreams and stay in the past.  Nicholas Winton states that the world looks to much at the past.  How are we to move forward in our lives if we only dwell on things that are out of our control.  How can you make a difference in someone's life?  Who knows, maybe you may be the next Nicholas Winston.

Tips:

1.      Take Command:  focus your actions on the present and future only looking at the past for reference

2.      Learn From Mistakes: mistakes suck, but it isn't healthy to dwell in them; instead of regretting them, make them your guide of what not to do for the present and future

Topic: Being Happy

“Be happy.” That’s a phrase easier said, or sung, than done.  Being humans, we are faced with new challenges and conflicts nearly every day.  This can easily affect our mood and emotions.  Although we may feel this way it is important that we are grateful for the things that are alright in our lives.  Whenever I feel down I always listen to music.  Spotify is a lifesaver!  It is important to find something that you can do so you won’t feel as crummy. whether it’s binge-watching on Netflix or eating a big ice cream sundae (just don’t overdo it).

Tips:

1.      Absorb positivity: surround yourself with positive people who are willing to support and encourage you, their positive attitude will then rub off on you

2.      Seek outward: if you are religious reach out to whatever god you believe in, seek guidance and whatever else needed to obtain happiness

Inner Elan Vital #1

Topic: Today’s Internet

Just over 20 years the Internet has evolved at a remarkably rapid pace.  Everything is “up in clouds” and is as easy to access as just sliding a finger across a glass screen.  This type of technology has connected this world in a magnificent way.  Being able to communicate with people and share information with them has led to this whole new separate world apart from its physical state.  This Internet world is vaster and seems to be endlessly growing.  But along with this rapid growth comes major responsibility.  What we all need to understand is that what is on the internet stays on the internet.  It doesn’t magically disappear, even if we thought we deleted it.  As technology is growing, the easier it is to retrieve information about ourselves.  This is why we have to be careful about what we share with each other, since people we don’t know can probably find that information just as easily.  Think about your plans for the future.  What college you want to go to?  What job you hope to earn?  Whether or not you want to start a family?  Is it really worth it posting something you’ll later regret?

Tips:

1.      Listen to your conscience: if you know it’s wrong, don’t do it

2.      Be smart: think ahead about the type of internet reputation you want for the present and your future

Introducing the Inner Elan Vital Series

Hello lovely people!   So I’ve decided to create a series within my blog called the Inner Elan Vital series.

The definition of élan vital is: the creative force within an organism that is responsible for growth, change, and necessary or desirable adaptations.

Within this series I will tackle present-day issues/topics, give advice, and provide my personal tips and strategies for obtaining a more peaceful and happy life.  My hope is that this series will help us to all evolve our lives in a way that will make it easier for us to deal with the negativity in our everyday lives and not let it affect our happiness.

I want you all to be involved in this blog series as well!  So make sure to send me any suggestions for topics or comment on any of my posts.  You can also contact me at: moniquemedleyblog@gmail.com
